WASHINGTON, DC November 20, 2013 – PCIA-The Wireless Infrastructure Association today joined other industry leaders at the White House for the official launch of Warriors 4 Wireless (W4W)—an organization dedicated to helping returning veterans receive training and support to fill jobs in the wireless industry. PCIA is supporting W4W’s efforts to expand and refine its training programs.

“Veterans are ideally suited to fill the wireless industry’s urgent need for skilled workers,” said Jonathan Adelstein, PCIA President & CEO and W4W Advisory Board Member. “We believe our veterans deserve to participate fully in the wireless industry’s rapid growth.  PCIA will partner with W4W to develop targeted training that enables veterans’ careers to evolve as technology evolves to rapidly, efficiently and safely deploy next-generation wireless facilities.”

As the U.S. military experiences one of the largest force reductions in recent history, W4W is committed to helping returning and out-of-work veterans receive the training and resources they will need to get a job in wireless, which is one of the nation’s fastest growing industries. W4W will work proactively with wireless companies to pinpoint applicable positions and promote the hiring of veterans, whose skills coincide with those needed by specially-trained wireless employees.

With the industry experiencing rapid growth due to consumer demand for wireless broadband capacity, PCIA is well suited to provide a vital link between returning veterans and hiring companies, both through training programs and employment outreach efforts. As the nation begins to devote more resources toward building a robust, expansive wireless broadband network that meets the needs of a 21st century economy, the industry will need thousands of properly-trained technicians to get the job done.
